James Douglas “JD” Buckley 

     SANTA FE – Mr. James Douglas “J.D.” Buckley passed from this life Thursday afternoon, February 9, 2017, in Webster. 

     Born July 13, 1940 in Jaquin, Texas, Mr. Buckley had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1969. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working the rodeos, building things, and loved to travel. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Houston and Ethyl Mae (Miller) Buckley; son, Michael James Buckley; uncle and aunt, J.T. and Evelyn Miller.

     Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Sheila Ruth Buckley; daughter, Cindy Faye Buckley of Santa Fe; brother, Jack Buckley and wife, Carolyn of Bryan; nephew, Lary Buckley and wife, Carol of College Station; cousins, Keith and wife, Julie Miller and James Miller of Santa Fe.   

     Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Dr. Rick Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery. 

     Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.  

     Memorials in the form of donations may be made in James’s name to the charity of your choice.
