SANTA FE – Mr. James Wayne Miller passed from this life Saturday morning, December 23, 2017, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.
Born July 28, 1953 in Galveston, James had been a lifetime resident of Santa Fe. He was the co-owner and operator of M Bar M Cattle Company since 1988 and the National Professional Bull Rider Association since 2000 which enabled him to be involved in his true passion of rodeos and bull riding. James was a true cowboy, through and through… he loved to hunt, ride and fight bulls, clown rodeo’s and later produced rodeo’s and bull riding events. He had also been a member of the Lineman’s Local # 66 in Pasadena for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. T. and Evelyn Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Miller; sons, Jason Miller and wife, Tammy, Jake Miller, Chad Paysse; daughters, Casey Miller-Culbreth, Jodis Strother and Eric Kyler; brother, Keith Miller and wife, Julie; nephews, Craig Miller and wife, Randi, Randy Miller and Brieanne Rouse, Travis Miller and wife, Aubrey; step sons, Ralph “Ed” Melillo, Colton Vaughan; step daughters, Lacey Cernoch and husband, Phillip, Barbie Melillo and Keith Karstedt; 10 grandchildren, 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017, in the Chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Mr. Jerry Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jason Miller, Jake Miller, Craig Miller, Randy Miller, Travis Miller and Chad Paysse.
