HITCHCOCK - Mrs. Leonor Lara Garcia passed from this life Wednesday morning, November 16, 2016, in Webster.

Born July 1, 1929 in Sugarland, Mrs. Garcia had been a resident of Hitchcock since 1955, previously of Galveston. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo and Jesusa (Vasquez) Lara; brothers, Michael Lara, Jesse Lara; sisters, Angelita Rodriguez, Josie Garza, Cecilia “Tila” Cadriel.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Julio C. Garcia; sons, Edward Garcia and wife, Bobbi of Santa Fe, Ralph Garcia and wife, Lori of Dickinson; sister, Esperanza “Hope” Lara of Houston, brother, Raymond Lara of Katy; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the mausoleum chapel of Hayes Grace Memorial Park, with Reverend John Kappe officiating.

Visitation with the family will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, (409) 925-3501.
