TEXAS CITY - Mrs. Genece McCurley passed from this life Monday morning, March 13, 2017, in Texas City.

Born June 7, 1919 in Doucette, TX, Mrs. McCurley had been a resident of Galveston County since 1952, previously of Doucette. She spent her life creating a loving home for her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Emma (Brown) Hensarling; husband, Jack McCurley; brothers, Cleon, Lavert and T.J. Hensarling.

Survivors include her sons, Darrell McCurley, Sr. and wife, Valerie Bray of Texas City, Noel McCurley and wife, Josie of Fairview; daughter, Sandra Wells and husband, David of Hitchcock; sister, Inece Hughes and husband, Jesse of Woodville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, (409) 925-3501, with Mr. Jesse Hughes officiating.
