Mary Catherine (Sckittone) Motl

     SANTA FE – Mrs. Mary Catherine (Sckittone) Motl passed peacefully from this life September 7, 2016 at her home. Born August 26, 1931 in Alta Loma, Texas, Mrs. Motl was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 1948 graduate of Santa Fe High School and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church her entire life. Catherine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her strong faith and her devotion to the caring of her family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Mary Sckittone; daughter, Jennifer Williams; brothers, Carmello and Anthony Sckittone; sister, Nora Murello.

     Survivors include her loving husband of over 67 years, Louis L. Motl; daughter, Mary Lou Wheeler and husband, Gregg of Richardson; sons, Bernard Motl and wife, Debra of Conroe, Thomas Motl of Hitchcock; son-in-law, Mike Williams of Friendswood; brother, Nick Sckittone; sister, Rosie Hadley; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

     A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Hwy 6, (409) 925-3501.

     Casketbearers will be Louie Motl, Larry Motl, Travis Williams, Kevin Williams, Chris McKee and Paul Pedraza.

     Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with a Vigil service beginning at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary to follow, recited by Mr. Don LeCompte.
