GALVESTON – Mr. Randal Kellum passed from this life Saturday evening, July 22, 2017, in Santa Fe with his family at his side.
Born February 10, 1960 in Galveston, Randal had been a lifetime resident of Galveston county, having spent the last 20 years in Galveston, previously of Hitchcock. He had worked as a testing supervisor with West Gulf Marine since 1991 and enjoyed spending his free time fishing, crabbing and listening to his police scanner.
Survivors include his mother, Annie Kellum of Galveston; his children, John Randal Kellum, II of Santa Fe, Morgan Kellum of Dickinson, Ralph Kellum and Amber Kellum, both of Texas City; his brother, Donald Wayne Kellum of Santa Fe; sister, Lisa Fiegel and husband, Bryan of Galveston; nephew, Nathan Fiegel of Galveston, numerous grandchildren and his longtime friends, Pam Woods and Pat O’Brien of Galveston.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park with John Kellum, Ralph Kellum, Bubba Pride, Robert Carothers, Mike Chesson and Terry Vowell serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Sharing of Memories at 7:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Laforte and his staff at UTMB for the special care they gave Randal during his illness, and they suggest that people wishing to honor his memory may consider making donations to the American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer Research or the charity of their choice.
