SANTA FE - Mr. Rogers “Rocky” Patino passed from this life Saturday morning, November 26, 2016, in Texas City.
Born December 13, 1945 in Galveston, Mr. Patino had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, before beginning his career as a pipefitter for the Pipefitters Local #211. Rocky was a member of the Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints Church in Alvin, the Fantam Cruisers Club, the Fifty-Fifty Club and the Gulf Coast Corvette Club, he enjoyed collecting and restoring corvettes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Caroline (Mancillas) Patino.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Wendy Krnavek; son, Hector Patino; sister, Anna Lopez; grandchildren, Alex and Breanna Patino and great grandson, Malaki Reed Ovalle; nephews, Esteban Lopez, Mike Lopez, Adam Lopez; niece, Marissa Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Bishop Adam Burkey officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hector Patino, Alex Patino, Earl Dudley, Richard Williams and Gary Thacker.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
