     KATY – Mrs. Helen Ward passed from this life Wednesday morning, October 12, 2016, in Katy. Born March 14, 1922 in LaPorte, Mrs. Ward had been a resident of Hitchcock for many years before moving to Houston. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Army as a nurse and was a member of Hitchcock United Methodist Church.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maybelle Howald; husbands, Marion Bruce Cline and Curtis Leo Ward; and daughter, Marion Charles.

     Survivors include her sons, Byron Cline and Curtis Ward, Jr.; daughters, Cindy Cline-Flores, Pat Hamilton, Loretta Diman, Betty McAviney, Marie Lee and Deborah Buks; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

     Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Unity Church, 2929 Unity Drive, Houston, Texas 77056. A private cremation is under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
