George Joseph Deharde, Jr.

     SANTA FE – Mr. George Joseph Deharde, Jr., passed from this life Friday evening, December 8, 2017, in Santa Fe.

     Born March 28, 1960 in Galveston, Mr. Deharde had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1978. He was a wonderful cook especially when it came to family recipes. George enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren and chilling with his friends. He loved watching The Jerry Springer Show and don’t bother him during the Duke movies!

     He was preceded in death by his father, George Deharde, Sr.; mother and step-father, Robin and Sam Lewis; brother Cory Lewis.

     Survivors include his children, Jessica Hayes and husband, Josh, Dani Gillispie, G. B. Gillispie; brothers, Chuck Deharde and wife, Sheryl, Ronnie Deharde, Randy Deharde and wife, Evelyn, Frank Deharde, Joey Wheelis, Jr.; sisters, Robin Reid and husband, Vernon, Mari Deharde, Joni Vitek and husband, Jim; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with Mr. Jim Vitek officiating.
